While living and working as a consulting engineer in the Permian Basin, it was realized that there must be a better way to manage and dispose of the enormous amounts of produced water accompanying oil production.

Using techniques and approaches gained from years of experience in the aerospace, medical, defense and agricultural industries, we developed a solution that allows the grease-laden produced water to be cheaply converted into freshwater. The dissolved solids, salts and grease leave as either saturated brine or as a dry powder.

A demonstration system employing this technology was built and evaluated in Carlsbad, NM with great success.

Extensive on the ground experience gained from working in the Permian was employed to design a modular, industrial scale solution that was robust, simple, and durable enough to survive harsh oilfield conditions with little maintenance.
